Dr Mercedes Ortegea

Dr. Ortega is originally from Spain, where she completed her medical degree and postgraduate training in Barcelona. Since moving to Ireland, she has gained several years of extensive clinical experience within the Irish healthcare system, working across both General Practice and Psychiatry.
Her experience in Ireland has given her a strong understanding of the Irish healthcare system and the diverse needs of patients within the local community. Through her work in General Practice, she has developed broad experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, while also developing a particular interest in mental health and women’s health.
Her experience in Psychiatry has further strengthened her ability to support patients experiencing a range of mental health concerns and to provide holistic care that considers both physical and psychological wellbeing.
She believes that building a trusting doctor–patient relationship is fundamental to good healthcare and strives to ensure that every patient feels listened to, understood, and actively involved in decisions about their care.
Passionate about supporting patients at every stage of life, Dr. Ortega takes a compassionate and holistic approach to healthcare. She aims to provide personalised, evidence-based care in a friendly, welcoming, and supportive environment.
